By the end of this elective course, participants will: Deepen their understanding of diabetes and strokes, emphasizing their prevalence, risk factors, management, and prevention. Recognize the unique challenges and considerations regarding diabetes and strokes in various community settings. Develop intervention and education strategies to support community members in managing and preventing these health conditions.
As a Community health worker, you will learn or be exposed to different situations that require skills and expertise to support people with mental health and substance use challenges. Participants shall participate and learn key elements of understanding mental health and substance use challenges in ways that are culturally responsive and support recovery.
